This country is known as the second most mountainous area in Europe.

In the middle of the country, you can find a significant dry table terrain which is known as the Meseta. It has an altitude that ranges between 600 and 1000 meters. Spain has a fair climate compared with the other countries in Europe. Basically, the sugar levels of grapes can be increased because of sunshine and Spain has continues sunshine, which provides high alcohol level to their Spanish wines.

Aside from its different planting locations, this country also has a lot of indigenous grape varieties. They have more than 600 varieties of grapes that are planted all over Spain.
