2009 Baron de L
This well known Pouilly Fumé has a lovely pale yellow color, it is iridescent and sparkling, changing from pale straw to young and greenish.
Even cold it opens up with crushed rocks and freshly trimmed box hedge followed with summer peaches, more exotic pineapple and lychee and
sweet ripe golden delicious apples. It’s aromas are a lovely combination of fruity freshness and mineral complexity.
On the palate it continues to be a wonderful treat : surprisingly well bodied with again that touch of minerality but also crisp acidity. It’s young and vibrant but with nice depth and length. This is a great example of a wine perfect as an appetizer and excellently suited to bring along to the table to accompany at least your entrée and more.
