Because my warehouse manager celebrated his 50th birthday we opened and tasted a bottle of 2012 Chablis Monts Mains from Raveneau.
Perhaps still a little too young as Raveneau produces Chablis that can age for decades.
But with these temperatures we rather enjoy drinking it in his younger stage.
A fresh and elegant well balanced wine with lovely hints of peach / fresh pine apple and some tones of nuts – due to the refined acidity the taste holds for minutes.
A wine with lots of minerals due to the chalky underground - the wine offers on the palate buttery aromas which are typical for this Chardonnay.
A lovely, rich and full bodied wine, you can drink by lunch, dinner or even on a terrace with some friends…or also a keeper as it can age for at least another then years.
